International Convention for the Recovery of Stolen Motor Vehicles (ICRV)

The ICRV framework to tackle vehicle crime was set up in 2006. It mirrors the cooperation between police contact points established by the European Council decision of 22 December 2004.

Signatories to the convention commit to establishing an insurance contact point in their country to exchange information on stolen vehicles with their national police and with insurance contact points in other EU member states.

Insurance Europe holds the secretariat of the ICRV, providing a platform on which information on the national contact points can be found. It is not involved directly or indirectly with the recovery of stolen vehicles.

Changes or updates to the information on national contact points should be submitted by e-mail to [email protected].
