ISSDC demographic challenge kick-off workshop

On 17 September 2015 Insurance Europe and the employer and employee organisations that make up the EU’s Insurance Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee (ISSDC) are hosting a workshop in Bratislava, Slovakia to discuss ways for the European insurance sector to address the challenges it faces as its workforce gets older.
The workshop is part of the ISSDC’s project on the demographic challenge in the insurance sector, which is funded by the European Union and which will last until 2016.
The ISSDC’s project will build on the work of the previous project on the demographic challenge, which was led by Insurance Europe in 2011-2012. Part of this successful project, was a booklet published by Insurance Europe and its ISSDC partners in May 2012 presenting a sample of the many original “good practices” already introduced in the insurance industry.
The workshop will kick-off the work on updating this booklet with new positive, innovative and effective examples in the field of work-life balance, qualifications and life-long learning as well as health and safety at work. Following on from the joint declaration on telework, the new booklet will also address this issue.
