By way of introduction, Insurance Europe would like to highlight its strong support for the need to maintain the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) as a separate European authority. This is the only way for the European supervisory architecture can ensure that all sectors’ specificities are duly considered, through dedicated technical experts.
