Insurance Europe submitted its input on information overload and duplication and paper requirements to the online REFIT Platform tool today. The concerns were shared with the REFIT Platform to raise awareness of policymakers and stakeholders, including consumer groups, about duplications and inconsistencies in the EU legislation applicable to insurance, which have a detrimental impact on consumers and the industry.
REFIT consists of a Platform, composed of a Government Group, with one seat per member state, and a Stakeholder Group with 20 members from business, social partners and civil society. The Platform is tasked with reviewing stakeholders' suggestions and advising the European Commission on how to make EU regulation more efficient and effective, while reducing administrative burden and without undermining policy objectives.
