Consumer Hub updated with new examples of consumer-focused insurance practices across Europe

6-1-2026

Insurance Europe has updated its Consumer Hub, an online tool that shows how insurers across Europe are improving products, services and protections for consumers.

Insurance plays a key role in helping people manage risks and recover when things go wrong. To meet changing expectations, insurers across Europe are continuously adapting — making insurance easier to understand, easier to access and more responsive when consumers need support.

The Consumer Hub brings these efforts together in one place. It showcases practical, real-world examples of consumer-focused initiatives from national insurance markets across the EU.

The tool is built around an interactive map of Europe. Users can click on individual countries to explore examples of how insurers are working to better serve consumers in that market.

The updated Consumer Hub highlights initiatives in areas such as:

  • Innovative products and services
  • Digitalisation
  • Improved claims handling
  • Transparency and financial education
  • Clearer policy information, including covers and exclusions
  • Risk prevention and management
  • Action to combat insurance fraud
  • Good practices in conduct of business

The Consumer Hub is a living resource. It will continue to be updated as new initiatives emerge, offering policymakers, stakeholders and the wider public a clearer picture of how the insurance sector supports consumers across Europe.
