It is with profound sadness that we learn that Gérard de La Martinière has passed away.
Gérard was President of Insurance Europe – then the Comité Européen des Assurances (CEA) – from 2004 to 2008.
Gérard was an exceptional mentor and leader, helping shape the Insurance Europe that we see today. As the Director General for finances, control and strategy of the Axa Group, President of the French federation of Insurers – now France Assureurs – and Insurance Europe, Gérard was a celebrated leading figure that left a mark on the insurance industry not only in France, but across Europe.
